Cycling season on Mallorca ends in May and starts again in September. The summer months are dry and calm, however, nobody wants to pedal in the blazing sun. But this year we missed the road for many weeks. And if you get up early, it’s not too hot for a ride in the mountains. Only few rental cars will get in your way, right now. Aim high: Galilea

Galilea

It takes a bit of an effort to get to Galilea but it’s sure worth a visit. The small town with the biblical name is the highest on the island, not Deià or Valldemossa as you might expect. Southwest Mallorca is the perfect region to start the new cycling season: it gets the most sun and it is sheltered from the Mistral so nature is already in full bloom.
