**** Unfortunately, Es Rebost closed in the meantime. ****
Most people love their neighborhood the way it is. You have daily routines and favorite places and expect to find them unaltered: the grocery store next door, the regular frequented café or bar, the small movie theater around the corner, the newspaper stand. I am just the same. But I’m also curious about changes. One of the many reasons why I live in a city like Palma. There is a constant change – for better of for worse – and always something new to discover. For example the new offshoot of Es Rebost.
Helmut Clemens founded his restaurant Es Rebost about four years ago on Av. de Jaume III – an unusual neighborhood for a place that advertised „100% natural Mallorcan Food“. But his dedication to fresh local products from sustainable gardens on the island soon attracted locals as well as travelers.
Recently, he opened another „pantry“ (the literal meaning of rebost) on Carrer dels Oms. Open for breakfast, lunch and any time in between, with a nicely stacked bar and a tasty menu of small dishes plus freshly squeezed juices, llonguets (the typical Mallorcan buns), coffee and home made desserts – to stay or to go. And Es Rebost got a new motto: „Fast Slow-Food“ is a nice play on words!
