With its many small individual boutiques Palma is a paradise for shoppers. While my sweetheart browses through the racks of La Principal or addict, I love to have a look at the latest arrivals at Suivi or Suite13. And recently at Paula’s Room, a new hip member of Palma’s fashion scene. Paying tribute to her grandmother Paula, Antonia Julià Rosselló opened her own store just a few weeks ago in the former space of La Principal on Carrer Paraires. It’s talk of the town, already.
Antonia has assembled a fine selection of young desginers: shirts and dresses from Anine Bing, Ragdoll LA, or Amatør, boots and sandals from It Shoes, necklaces from #Tagstories, and Tiwi sunglasses. You’ll find slim denims and oversized tees as well as fancy party outfits. Like Suivi, Antonia values style and quality and combines both with her own personal touch. Ask her about a brand, and she can tell you all about it. I go for the maritime stuff and immediately fell for a striped cotton shirt.
But it’s not only the apparel that’s exciting – it’s also the shop’s decor that makes Paula’s Room special. Antonia left most of the great interior design Tony had been using before, and refined it with beautiful details, most of them with vintage appeal. The wonderful light installation in the back of the room, by the way, she designed herself.
