**** The restaurant on Jaume III closed again. But you can still enjoy Es Rebost on C/ dels Oms, 52. ****
You wouldn’t expect Mallorcan whole foods on posh Jaume III, but here it is: Es Rebost assembles the best natural products of the island. Para llevar (take away), in the restaurant, or on the patio out on the sidewalk, where you can enjoy your meal and watch people strolling and window shopping.
Es Rebost is more than a pantry (what its name literally means), for me it’s rather a treasure room. Full of fresh food and friendly staff who are really proud of doing what they do. So I couldn’t go wrong following the waiter’s choice: a crisp mixed salad with herbs, pear, dates, and cheese. 100 % natural, 100 % mallorquín, 100 % con cariño (made with love) – that’s the secret of their kitchen. It’s no secret, however, that I will come back soon and explore this lovely ‘store-room’ some more.
Its menu comprises a wide variety of sandwiches, salads, cakes, cookies and desserts. And the store offers a best-of-Mallorca’s delicacies: from almonds to wine, flor de sal d’es Trenc, olive oil from Sóller, or home-made jams. Combined and packed in a nice basket or one of the beautiful Llengos-patterned tote bags, you get es regal perfecte, the perfect present. And by the way: if you want to throw a party, Es Rebost also offers catering.
