On weekends and holidays, I don’t cycle on the waterfront. I leave the boardwalk to the skaters, runners, children, lovers and tourists. And go for the mountains where the steep and narrow roads are quiet. The air is fresh but not chilly, and from curve to curve the views are getting even more spectacular.
I do not take my camera with me since it doesn’t fit well in my cycling outfit. But on my way to Puigpunyent, I took a few pics with my iPhone. I love the picturesque village in the Tramuntana mountains even though the number of cars getting here has been increasing every year.
The Café C’an Blau is still a quite secluded place, where you can nicely sit outside on the patio or the sidewalk. Besides a great cappuccino you get free WiFi access – and if you are really really lucky even a piece of tarta de limón. Alternatively, the ensaimada also provides you with an extra boost of energy for the next climb. Segur que tornau, says the waiter’s T-Shirt – make sure you return.
****Sadly, the café doesn’t exist anymore…****
