There are plenty of great cafés in Palma, today. Including a growing number of specialty coffee shops. The latest trend, however, are urban eateries. Cool places where all kinds of people meet. Travelers and neighbors savor a sweet or hearty breakfast or lunch. Digital nomads open their laptops. And parents with small children enjoy the relaxed atmosphere in bright and airy rooms. Coffee still takes center stage. But only few come here for the hot stuff, only. These “coffeateries” are particularly popular in Palma, now.
Rosevelvet Eatery
On their travels, Franer and Rosita love to discover new café trends. And they have repeatedly set new standards in Palma. With the obrador, their own bakery and patisserie. And now with the new urban café Rosevelvet Eatery.
The interior is unmistakable clean and minimalist, looking like a mixture of gallery and bar. Even the dishes got a little twist, like the Not Turkish Egg, for example.
La Molienda Arxiduc
Miquel and Toni are the pioneers of the specialty coffee scene in Palma. At light-flooded La Molienda Arxiduc, you can enjoy their own coffee. Roasted in town, from bean to bar, so to speak.
The vegetarian menu offers a couple of delicious tostadas as well as changing lunch specials. And of course there’s also a nice choice of homemade sweets that go perfectly with your coffee.
Federal Café
The new urban eatery juts out onto Plaça de les Columnes like the bow of a ship. To both sides people are sitting in the open windows, dangling their feet. Enjoying Australian café culture in Pere Garau all day long.
Even late risers get a decent breakfast at Federal Café. Or a good start into the night.
Batx
The latest addition to the cafés in Palma is Batx in Santa Catalina. Caffeine and the sunlight streaming through the large windows give you a kick for the day.
While the retro charm of the interior invites you to linger. Regulars and visitors come here for a bowl or a bagel, for breakfast or lunch.
