Tonight’s the night. Palma’s old town is filled with people strolling through the narrow streets. Curious to discover new works of art. Excited to meet the artists. And to exchange views with like-minded art lovers. It’s Nit de l’Art in Palma, again. Galleries and museums open their doors for the popular annual event.
And it’s not just about art. Fran Reus describes how the Nit de L’Art also brings people together. „The Nit de l’Art is an important social event,“ the new president of Art Palma Contemporani (APC) points out. People from all over the island as well as an international crowd get together and enjoy the special atmosphere.
And it is often the exhibition venues that fascinate. The magnificent Palmesan mansions that house Galeria Pelaires or Casal Solleric. Galeria Fermay with it’s cool industrial chic. Or Palma’s Museum of Contemporary Art, Es Baluard, a fortress of space and light.
You can follow the APC map of the 21 exhibition sites. But it’s actually even more fun to drift with the crowd. And there are lots of places that join in. Open spaces where painters display their works. Or stores offering drinks and music.
Don’t worry if you couldn’t make it tonight. Most exhibitions run for a few more weeks, so you can easily catch up.
