First thing you see are the children and adults in a semicircle on the street. Locals know what‘s captivating them. But everyone else is also magically attracted. On thin strings marionettes on a small stage perform like real rock musicians. Flirts with the audience and stage diving included. It‘s Nacho, Palma’s puppeteer, who fills the little wooden dolls with life.
He makes the puppets in his own workshop. And gives each of them its individual character. Music and puppetry are Nacho’s passion. His performances in pedestrian zones and on beach promenades combine both.
You can’t book his show “El Boqueron de la Isla & Friends”. But with a little luck you will meet Palma’s puppeteer on a Friday afternoon, maybe, or on a Saturday morning on busy Carrer Sant Miquel just opposite the church. And during the summer holidays Nacho and his puppets sometimes appear in Can Picafort.
