It’s no coincidence that we celebrate Christmas right after the winter solstice. Gradually the sunlight returns and the days are getting longer again. And who doesn’t need a light of hope in those grim times of a worldwide pandemic. All the more so since these holidays feel like a déjà vu. Last year we had hoped that things would be better by now. Now we feel like being stuck in a time loop. Atrapado en el Tiempo, as the cult movie is called in Spain, in which Bill Murray has to live the same day over and over again. Groundhog day in Punxsutawney which is actually on 2 February.
But night is darkest just before dawn. And I firmly believe that – as in this movie – things will change for the better. That love will conquer hate. And isn’t Christmas the feast of love. Sounds like pathos? Whatever you believe in, I wish you very happy holidays. I hope you can spend some time with your loved ones. Stay healthy and confident.
