These first days of autumn there is nothing like a decent cup of coffee. Like the house blend of Surry Hills, specialty coffee roasted on Mallorca by Mistral. The new café in the Missió neighborhood brings a charming combination of Argentinian and Australian coffee culture to Palma. And with a choice of French Toast, crunchy granola and homemade pastries it is a great addition to the brunch scene.
I don‘t take sugar with my cappuccino. So an alfajor is the perfect addition. The cookie made of hazelnut and dulce de leche is a specialty of Felipes and Tatianas home Buenos Aires. But it was while living in Sydney for a few years that they madly fell in love with the Australian coffee scene.
Surry Hills is not only a place for people with a sweet tooth. Hearty snacks like the delicious Reuben Sandwich or Salmon Feta Toast go perfectly along with a freshly squeezed juice or a coffee as well.
My favorite place to relish them are the bar-like tables at the open windows. Where you can observe the relaxed street life of the barrio. Or watch customers of Seattle Vintage next door showing off their latest purchase.
