Within a few years only, Mistral has made its mark for specialty coffee on Mallorca. The small roastery in Palma is often crowded with aficionados who love to taste and buy their coffee on-site. Today, Mistral took the endeavor a step further and opened its own café. And not just any café. Located on splendid Plaça Weyler, Mistral Coffee House offers exquisite coffee plus a choice of drinks and small sweet and hearty snacks.
The café’s industrial design is a reminder that you are close to production. Bright wood, glass and iron are contrasting the old mares walls. Mistral founders Agata Mikulska and Greg Schuler are equally excited and tired after preparing for the opening. But the commitment has paid off. Mistral Coffee House invites you to linger. Next to the former emblematic Gran Hotel and opposite fabulous Forn de Teatre. Soon there’ll even be tables on the terrace.
The specialty coffee scene in Palma is still relatively young. But the leading protagonists are united in their dedication to good coffee. Mistral coffee can be found in select places on the island. Running their own café, now, Agata and Greg don’t consider this competition but rather another offer to the growing crowd of coffee lovers. For me, each and every one of these places has a certain something. Be it the enthusiastic baristas, the selected small dishes from the kitchen, the fanciful furnishings or the particular location. Mistral got a bit of everything.
