**** Sadly, Marta closed her wonderful store. ****
We all have those playlists with different songs that are linked to special moments of our life. Songs that have accompanied us for so long that they became friends. Imagine your playlist to be a shop, and you can picture Las Gracias. There are so many good things on this island – from almonds to olives, capers to wine, from salts to scents. Las Gracias offers a best-of-Mallorca plus some more precious, carefully selected products from Barcelona and other nearby places.
When passing Santa Eulàlia watch out for the white fish graffiti on the storefront of Las Gracias – it’s by no less than Antonio Fernández-Coca. You feel at home as soon as you enter the bar & boutique, not only because of the beautiful products but also thanks to the music. Other than the elevator style background tunes which I always try to ignore, Marta usually plays some real cool stuff. For example David Bowie. Actually she is as much a fan of Bowie as I am.
So take your time and browse through the shelves. Whether you are looking for a present or just want to treat yourself, this store has it all: Flor de Sal from Es Trenc, Salar coffee, Moritz Beer from Barcelona, or lovely bags and shirts from local manufactions. Marta is familiar with all the products, she can tell you about their origin and the way they are processed. Sit down at the table inside for a snack, or have your coffee outside, facing the limestone wall of the impressive church, and watch the people passing by. Enjoy yourself and another day in paradise. Gracias, Las Gracias.
