This weekend, Palma’s traditional book fair – the Fira del llibre – was opened for the 32nd time. For ten days in a row, the city’s most engaged booksellers leave their shops and virtually go onto the streets to meet their customers. Join the book lovers of all ages (and those to be) and stroll through the many stalls, look for the newest releases or re-discover a forgotten modern classic. But there is more than just books.
Have a close look at the fira’s program: Today at noon, Daniel Soler (better known as Daniel Hiegiénico), singer, songwriter and actor from Barcelona, presented his first novel „El paseo infinito“ live on stage. What a performance! You will also have the opportunity to talk to authors, poets and musicians, or meet with editors and publishers. There are dozens more of readings, discussions and concerts, in the book stands as well as in the nearby park.
So in fact the fira del llibre is also a fiesta, offering sensations for all our senses. For many years housed on the Borne, the fair is now located on the upper La Rambla next to the Jardi de la misericòrdia.
